Install and configure a KMS – VAMT server

Install the volume activation services role from the server manager console.
A new event is present in the console.
Check the server name and click Next.
Enter the KMS key for your operating system and click on Validate
Leave the default choice and click Activate Product.
Validate.
Add the firewall exceptions, check the listening port and click Validate.
On the KMS server, open a DOS command prompt and enter the following commands.
1 | Slmgr /ipk "Your Key". |
A message appears, click OK
Enter
1 | slmgr /ato |
A message appears to warn you that the server has been successfully activated.
Install and configure VAMT
In order to manage activation on workstations and servers, the VAMT console is installed.
To do this, it is necessary to install SQL Server 2016 Express Edition on the KMS server.
In the database, select on Database Engine Services and click Next.
Click Next until you finish installing SQL Server 2016 Express Edition.
VAMT can now be installed. This requires the download of ADK for Windows 10.
The installation file can be obtained from the Microsoft website.

Once downloaded, the installation configuration can be executed.
In the Specify location windows, click Next
Click No in Windows Windows Privacy Kit and accept the license agreement by clicking Accept.
In the windows for selecting the features to install, select Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT)
Start the installation by clicking on Install.
Enter the name of the instance and select Create a new database from the drop-down list.
In the database name field, type KMS. Click Connect to continue the connection.
Select Products when the console appears and click Explore Products.
Click on Search in the window that appears.
The computers and servers present in AD appear.
You will find generic product keys called GVLK (General Volume License Key) to use on KMS clients.
The GVLK keys to be used on KMS clients are more commonly known as “volume license keys”.
